Roy started training in the Lee family arts in 1990 at the age of 13 studying under Sifu Nigel Collier a 4th degree black sash in Feng Shou. Nigel's class was small relaxed, fun and very dedicated. During this time Roy attended courses with Grand master Chee Soo, Master Tony Swanson (Chairman of the British council of Chinese martial arts, and a senior student of Chee Soo) and Laoshi Keith Ewers (Graded to 5th black sash by Chee Soo and one of his most senior students), Roy was then invited to join Laoshi Keith Ewers classes. Shortly after this Roy also began teaching his own classes at Laoshi Ewers request.In 2000 Roy began studying Sun style Bagua under Laoshi Keith Ewers as well as the Lee family arts.Since 2005 Roy has been broadening his horizons training with various Lee style instructors all across the UK and has also trained in Yang style Tai Chi, Jujitsu, Fung Yang Sau kung fu, kick boxing, Eskrima and Five element Chi Kung. Despite looking at other systems the Lee family arts remain the most important and forms the core part of his training. Roy is currently studying tai chi with Phil James who has been practicing for over 40 years.Roy is recognised by the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain as an advanced instructor in:* Lee style Tai Chi* Feng Shou (Hand of the wind) kung fu* Kai Men (Chinese Yoga)* Sun style BaguaIn March 2008 Roy was awarded his 5th Tengchi black sash in Feng Shou Kung and 3rd Tengchi black sash in Lee style Tai Chi Chuan.Roy also has a diploma in Signature Ritual Massage.Level 3 diploma in Anatomy & PhysiologyLevel 3 Diploma in body massageLevel 3 Diploma in Sports massage therapy
